Meet Michael
A life with music.
A song for the moment.
Familiar melodies, personal connections, and the joy of sharing a song.
Michael Layne has been playing piano and singing since he was ten. Equally comfortable reading a score or finding a melody by ear, he brings a personal touch to familiar songs—music that invites you to settle in, remember, and sing along.
His influences include the storytelling of Billy Joel, the expressive piano and vocals of Elton John, and the melodic warmth of Jim Brickman. His repertoire draws mainly from pop favorites of the 1970s through the 2000s.
Music that meets the room.
Some evenings call for a quiet soundtrack. Others turn into shared choruses and requests from across the room. Michael welcomes both, shaping the performance around the people listening. Special song requests may also be arranged in advance.
Whether you’re watching a recording, joining a live session, or listening in person, this is a place to enjoy the music and the memories it brings.
